WATCH VIDEO - NICKI MINAJ SHADES CARDI B

Even though Nicki Minaj and Cardi B agreed to stop taking public shots at one another amidst their feud, that didn’t stop Nicki from throwing some subtle shade at her nemesis in her new video for ‘Good Form.’

Nicki Minaj dropped her sexy new music video for “Good Form” on Nov. 29, and there may have been a very important cameo that you missed! At one point, Nicki is shaking her booty in a mesh outfit, and she’s joined by Baddie Gi and Jade, who are also getting their twerk on. Baddie Gi and Jade are strip club bartenders, and the same women who are planning to sue Cardi B , claiming she ordered an attack on them earlier this year. The women claim that Cardi ordered the hit because she believed Jade had slept with her husband, Offset .

Back in October, Cardi turned herself in for her role in the bar fight, and was charged with misdemeanor assault and reckless endangerment. The alleged attack went down back in August, when Cardi showed up to the strip club because Offset was performing. The bartenders claim Cardi ordered her posse to throw bottles and chairs at them, leaving them with injuries that required medical attention, according to TMZ. Jade also said Cardi had been threatening her for months before things got physical. A lawyer for the bartenders has vowed to “bring [Cardi] to justice” over this situation, and Baddie Gi and Jade are reportedly planning to sue Cardi themselves.

Meanwhile, Nicki and Cardi obviously also have major beef of their own, which majorly escalated after an altercation at a New York Fashion Week party in September. During the incident, Cardi attempted to throw a shoe at Nicki because she believed the rapper had ‘liked’ a comment about her parenting on social media, which Nicki denied.

After that, the ladies took shots at one another in interviews and on social media. However, after things got heated again in October, they finally agreed to take their drama out of the public eye. “Ok you guys, let’s focus on positive things only from here on out,” Nicki tweeted. “We’re all so blessed. I know this stuff is entertaining & funny to a lot of people but I won’t be discussing this nonsense anymore.” Cardi reposted the tweet and wrote, “alright then! Let’s keep it positive and keep pushing!”

Bola Tinubu - As a Man United fan, I’m envious of Chelsea

The national leader of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu, on Monday revealed his knowledge of football when Super Eagles captain Mikel Obi paid him a visit at his Bourdillon, Ikoyi home in Lagos.

Mikel, who plays in the Chinese Super League, had visited Tinubu to seek his support for Africa’s Next Football Superstar, a talent hunt programme initiated by the Mikel Obi Foundation.
But the ex-Chelsea midfielder, who won two EPL titles, three FA Cups, one Football League Cup as well as the UEFA Champions League and Europa League in 11 years at Stamford Bridge, was perhaps astonished when Tinubu displayed his huge knowledge of the game

“I’m very proud and honoured to receive you (Mikel). I’m a great fan of football even though not much of a fan of your former club (Chelsea). I sincerely tried to watch Chelsea all the time you were there because you are a great talent,” Tinubu stated while receiving Mikel.
Tinubu in a chat with Newsmen, revealed that he is a staunch follower of English Premier League giants Manchester United.
“Chelsea is not my club but he (Mikel) is my club and we will support his project. I’m a Man United fan to the core,” the former Governor of Lagos State said.

“Last weekend, I watched the Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea game with one eye because I’m always envious of Chelsea. I always wish we (Manchester United) beat them. I sympathise with him (Mikel), his former club had to take a hit from Tottenham.
“When Mikel was there however, I watched Chelsea each time he was on the pitch with both eyes because he’s a great talent. It’s been a wonderful homecoming for him and we will do everything to support him.”
Though he may not support Chelsea, Tinubu admitted his love for Mikel has seen him visit Stamford Bridge to watch the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations winner in action for the Blues.
“I’ve been to Chelsea to watch their games because of him (Mikel). I always want him to win, he’s a great midfielder. He’s helped the club a lot, he’s brought the name of the club up, he has the team spirit and camaradene, which made Chelsea proud.”

However, when Tinubu was asked about the dwindling fortunes of Manchester United, he replied, “Are we discussing only football today (Monday)? Right now I’m going to play my own game, politics. Whatever is happening to Man United, no one club can stay up forever. They’ve set a great record already and we would be back on top. I think we are around number seven in the English Premier League table now. It’s too early in the season to write us off, we will never say die.”
Thereafter, the respected politician walked briskly towards his Range Rover Sport, as his retinue of aides tried to outshine each other in opening the door for him.

Atiku Abubakar - I am ready for presidential debate

Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has told President Muhammadu Buhari that he is ready for a debate with him ahead of the 2019 elections.
Abubakar told Buhari this on Thursday at the inauguration of the party’s presidential campaign council in Abuja.

He also said he is dedicated to an issued-based campaign and not “attack on individuals.”
“I have been asked to remind the APC and President Muhammadu Buhari that I, Atiku Abubakar, am ready for a debate,”he said.
Abubakar also called for the removal of Ibrahim Idris, inspector-general of police, before the elections.

The opposition has at various times accused Idris of compromise, especially as it relates to elections.
“We must demand the removal of the inspector-general of police. As members of the campaign council, you have the responsibility to ensure our mandates are achieved,” he said.
“We must run a disciplined campaign based on issues. We are facing an APC government desperate for power so this will be a tough if not toughest campaign.”
“I made clear from the beginning that my campaign will be focused on issues rather than attack on characters. Nigerians know the APC government has failed woefully. We must continue to remind our people of that and also tell them what we will do differently.”

The PDP presidential candidate called on Buhari to sign the electoral act amendment bill which have been forwarded to him by the national assembly.
“While it is customary to require politicians to conduct themselves well, good laws are essential for this,” he said.
“I call on President Muhammadu Buhari to sign into law without further delay the electoral act amendment which is on his desk if he is truly interested in the conduct of free and fair elections.”

Exclusive Report - Nigeria's 12 Tucano jets to fight Boko Haram won't be ready until 2024

The Nigerian government won't receive the 12 A-29 Super Tucano fighter jets it paid the United States government the sum of $469.4 million for until 2024.

2020 had been set as the initial delivery date of the jets but that has now been extended by four years.

President Muhammadu Buhari had controversially withdrawn the sum in question from the excess crude account, without the initial approval of the National Assembly, for the procurement of the jets which the government hopes will improve national security and help in its fight against terrorist group, Boko Haram.

Even though the delivery date was reported to be set for 2020, the United States Department of Defence has revealed that the fighter jets won't be ready for delivery till 2024.

The Defence Department announced on Wednessday, November 28 that the contract for the jets has been awarded to Sierra Nevada Corporation. The contract, worth $329 million, includes Forward Looking Infrared (FLIR) systems installed in six of the aircrafts.
The contract also provides for ground training equipment, mission planning systems, mission debrief systems, spares, ground support equipment and support services for personnel of the Nigeria Air Force.

The manufacturing of the fighter jets will take place in Jacksonville, Florida, according to the Department of Defence.
The late delivery date of the jets had previously nearly stalled the deal and the new date is expected to create further friction, especially with a resurgence in Boko Haram's activities in the northeast region.

The statement also revealed that terrorists staged a series of attacks on Nigerian troops » between November 2 and November 17. However, 16 soldiers were killed in the attacks while 12 were injured.
The Army also noted that despite systematically degrading Boko Haram in the past three years, the terrorists are staging a resurgence with daring moves that include the increased use of drones against troops' defensive positions and infusion of foreign fighters in their ranks.

Boko Haram from the face of the earth," he said.
He said security remains one of the cardinal objectives of his administration and promised that no effort will be spared to support troops, including reviewing their welfare package.
"I want to assure you that, as your commander in chief, I will do everything within my powers to continue empowering you by providing all the necessary equipment for you to prevail on the field.

Police Warns - Don't Buy Cell Phones From Strangers

Oni Waheed, the divisional crime officer, Ilaro police command, Ogun State, has advised the public to desist from buying cell phones from strangers in order not to get into trouble with the law.

Mr Waheed gave the advice in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday in Ota, Ogun State.
He said instead, people should purchase their cell phones from well-known outlets to prevent them from getting into police net.
“It is easy to trace cell phones bought from an outlet when crime is being committed by criminals than the one purchased from a stranger,” he said.

Mr Waheed noted that hoodlums sometimes robbed people of their valuables like cell phones, laptops and money and sell them to innocent people.
According to him, most of the criminals who indulge in the act usually sell the stolen goods to innocent people, on the pretext that they needed money urgently to attend to some needs.
“We have seen many victims of such problem and there is no evidence to prove their innocence.”

EUROPA LEAGUE: Maurizio Sarri confirms double injury blow for Chelsea tie with PAOK

Maurizio Sarri has confirmed a double injury blow for Chelsea ahead of PAOK Salonika clash in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday night at Stamford Bridge.

The 59-year-old Italian coach has been speaking to the media at his pre-match press conference this afternoon and he’s provided a team news and injury update as the Blues boss will do without Eden Hazard and Victor Moses.

Belgium international has been ruled out with an ankle injury that he picked up during the 3-1 defeat to Tottenham at Wembley on Saturday while out-of-favour winger and retired Nigerian star will play no part in the game against the Greek Super League side due to a back problem.

Sarri told reporters: "The last problem is Moses. I spoke with the doctor and he has a back problem this morning, so I think he will not be able to play tomorrow.
''Then Hazard of course it is not a serious injury. He will not be able to play tomorrow but I think he will be able to recover for the Premier League match (Fulham).

Moses has not started a competitive game for Chelsea since September 26 when he went the distance against Liverpool in the League Cup and England U17 World Cup-winning winger Callum Hudson-Odoi is set to be included in the matchday squad.

Chelsea head into the game tomorrow sitting six points clear of Vidi at the top of Group L so they just need to avoid defeat against third-placed POAK to secure top spot with a game to spare.

EXCLUSIVE REPORT: Melania Trump Turns Up For White House Xmas Reception: Why She Skipped The Decorations Reveal

There she is! Melania Trump was all smiles at the White House Christmas Reception on Tuesday, November 27, despite missing the official decorations reveal! Here’s why! And, see photos from the reception, here!
Melania Trump , 48, looked stunning in a belted cream-colored dress at the White House Christmas Reception on Tuesday, November 27! The First Lady and President Donald Trump , 72, hosted the lavish event, which greeted guests with an orchestra. Melania, with her hair down and wavy, was all smiles at the holiday reception despite skipping out on the White House Christmas Decorations reveal on Monday.

As for the Christmas Reception, Donald and Melania welcomed attendees from behind a podium, addressing the group over a microphone. “I just want to wish [you] Merry Christmas, and a happy, prosperous and peaceful New Year, and enjoy the White House,” Melania said to guests. The orchestra’s musicians, who were dressed in red coats, at in front of beautifully decorated Christmas trees as they played.
The president added (as seen captured on an attendee’s Instagram): “On behalf of the White House, on behalf of the president, I just want to say congratulations and your entire staff and many of whom are right in the audience right now, really that’s a job well…”, he said before the video cut off his speech.

But why did she decide to opt out of the big reveal? It turns out the First Family didn’t want to bring negativity into their home. “They didn’t want to engage in the traditional media reveal this year because they feel the press is so hostile towards them that they really don’t want to entertain them in their home,” a source tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. However, the insider notes that select members of the media were allowed to walk through decorated areas of the White House for a limited time on an unguided tour. “As far as Melania is concerned though, the decorations are for her family, and for the public to enjoy, not for the media, who will likely only try and criticize what she’s done, just as they did last year,” the source explains.
The First Family will open up the People’s House to the public throughout December for tours of the Christmas decorations,” the source says. They also have a ton of events organized, including carol singing concerts, festive dinners, and high school musicians performing. “Melania loves the Holidays and she goes all out for Christmas. —She’s actually been working on this year’s theme and festivities since August, and she’s incredibly proud of how everything has turned out!”

EXCLUSIVE: Aliko Dangote donates N1bn hostel to Ahmadu Bello University

The Aliko Dangote Foundation (ADF) is set to inaugurate a N1 billion hostel it built for the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria, Kaduna State.

The management of the university described the Dangote hostel project as a “big relief,” saying that accommodation is one of the nightmares of the sprawling university.

The Director, Physical Planning and Municipal Services of the university, Muhammad Aminu Sambo, said: “This is a big relief because the university has limited accommodation in relation to the number of students admitted every year. This is one of our nightmares.”
Speaking to journalists, Sambo said out of the over 50,000 students admitted yearly, the university could only provide accommodation for only about 13,000. He commended the President of Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, and urged all able Nigerians to emulate him and intervene in the education sector.

In his reaction, the Chief Architect of ABU, Yabani Abubakar, described the hostel as a monumental intervention, saying that it is a set of 10 blocks with 36 rooms each. Abubakar, who is the Chief Physical Planning and Development Officer (CPPDO), said the newly-built Dangote Hostel has been completed and will be inaugurated during the upcoming convocation ceremony.
According to him, as part of his commitment, Dangote visited the hostel recently and directed that new state-of-the-art facilities like solar power be installed. He said the hostel is located in Phase II section of the main campus and will be initially used as a wholly-male hostel from next academic session.

The Managing Director and CEO of the Aliko Dangote Foundation, Zouera Youssoufou, had said supporting education is one of the foundation’s priorities, adding that the ADF was recently endowed with $1.25 billion.
The National President of the Ahmadu Bello University Alumni Association, Prof. Ahmed Tijani Mora, recently noted that the contribution of the foundation to the education sector, and more importantly to the school, is unprecedented and as a result, the alumni association conferred a Corporate Award on the business mogul.
The Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Ibrahim Garba, commended Dangote, saying that the support was timely as the university has limited accommodation facility for its students.

The group had recently donated a world-class Dangote Business School worth N1.2 billion to the Bayero University Kano and donated another Business School complex in the University of Ibadan, among other interventions.
Dangote, who is Africa’s richest man had said: “I do not only want to be known as Africa’s richest man, but the biggest philanthropist. I will continue to use my resources and my voice to help shape a better Nigeria and Africa as a whole.”

Mourinho's temper began to rise after just five minutes when Marcus Rashford missed a one-on-one and he then frequently approached the touchline, visibly irritated and regularly shouting at his players before the last minute's goal saw Portuguese coach as kicked wildly at a tray of drinks bottles before picking it up and smashing it to the ground near the dug-out.

EXCLUSIVE - Oby Ezekwesili says I’m ready to fight for this country

She said this at a dinner in Lagos where Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf, former president of Liberia, endorsed her presidential ambition.
During the dinner, which was organised by Women in Successful Careers (WISCAR), Ezekwesili narrated her age-long friendship with Sirleaf, part of which was her role as a senior adviser on economic reforms to the ex-Liberian president.

The ACPN presidential candidate explained that the exemplary leadership of Sirleaf showed that when “a woman stands up to say ‘I want to lead’, she is ready to serve.”
Ezekwesili said that Nigerians needed “a leader that is willing to give their all in character, competence and capacity to serve the people and take the country out of stagnation, mediocrity and cycles of failure in the hands of old order politicians.”
According to her, women and youths must find their voice in our country, and demonstrate that they are fed up of poor quality leaders who have held the country down regardless of which political party holds sway.

“It is time to vote them out so we can build a prosperous, stable and harmonious nation where everyone has equal opportunity to do well,” she added.
While urging Nigerians not to give up on the country, she said, “It is either we all resigned to hopelessness, surrendered and said thank you Nigeria, you defeated us, or we did one more thing; and that is, to mobilize ourselves as citizens and elect as President in 2019, a person whose track record of service to Nigeria and Nigerians is well known. That person is Oby Ezekwesili.
“I detest the bad leadership by old order political class while the country totters. I am therefore ready to mobilise my fellow citizens to #Fight4Naija. Nigeria needs all of us to fight for her rescue from the grips of those who are planning to be re-elected or elected again so that they can fail even more and watch more citizens join the already 87 million extremely poor Nigerians.

“The 2019 election is our opportunity to say ‘No’ with finality. It is truly now over for those who cannot offer any innovative ideas for the development of our country.
“In recent time, we haven’t seen people break out of poverty as it used to happen. A lot of our politicians and elite like me all had the opportunity to break out of poverty through access to education. Sadly these days, our people are trapped in poverty and parents cannot give qualitative education to take their children out of poverty. It is an entrapment that we must urgently destroy.
She warned that Nigeria cannot make progress with the increasing rate of poverty and declared that she was ready to rescue Nigeria from mismanagement.

She said, “How long are we going to last if we keep growing a an inter-generational dynasty of poverty? Nigeria has now taken over from India (which is 1.3 billion people and also seven times our population) as the world headquarters of extreme poverty.
“On the day that statistics came out, there wasn’t even an outrage from our politicians. Instead, political parties were busy passing the buck, defending their administrations and blaming others. No sense of embarrassment of such massive failure of our country. There is no better evidence of failure of our political class.
“Nigeria and Nigerians need to be rescued. It is time to say no to crippling failures. It is truly now that we must fight!.”

Okorocha of Imo state, Uche Nwosu has dumped the All Progressives Congress for the Democratic Peoples’ Party , (DPP).
According to information gathered by Naija News , Nwosu, some members of the state house of assembly, as well as some of Governor Okorocha’s aides, defected on Tuesday.

Their defection is reportedly linked to the fall out of the APC governorship primaries in the state in which Nwosu failed to emerge as the party’s gubernatorial candidate.
Recall that as earlier published by Naija News, Okorocha only recently, declared his support for Buhari and the APC in the 2019 general elections, stating that he remains a member of the party. The governor was however quick to mention that he would work for the victory of Nwosu as the next governor of the state in 2019 even as he pursues his own dream of becoming a senator representing Orlu Senatorial District on the platform of the APC.

Okorocha while speaking with newsmen at the Imo state government house had said; “What happened in Imo was a clear case of injustice, where Uche Nwosu won the primary and was robbed of the ticket. This injustice must be addressed. However, in spite of the fact that my aides are leaving the party, I am still a member of APC and will not leave the party.
“I tried to persuade them not to leave, but they have made up their minds. I have done what I can to make them remain in the party, they disobeyed me. I don’t have any moral justification to stop them.

“President Buhari is not behind the injustice done by the party in the state but Oshiomhole is solely responsible for all the injustice meted to my people in Imo State.
For me, I am still a member of APC. Buhari still remains my candidate and I will support him.”

President Muhammadu Buhari has cancelled his planned five -day “ casual leave ’’ as a mark of respect for victims of Boko Haram attacks across the battlefields in the Northeast zone of the country.

The president , according to NAN , had earlier cancelled his official trip to Benin City , Edo , where he was initially billed to inaugurate the Edo -Azura Power Plant and grace the Chief of Army Staff Annual Conference.

NAN reports that already the advanced teams of the president , who left Abuja for Katsina and Benin on Sunday , had been asked to return .

NAN gathered that the cancellation of the trips would also enable the president to continue his ongoing meetings and consultations with relevant security and intelligence community aimed at addressing the nation ’ s security challenges .
However , the president is expected to declare open the Chief of Army Staff Annual Conference, which was moved from Benin City to Maiduguri , Borno , on November 28 at the Government House Conference Hall .

Exclusive: Ariana Grande Imitator, Gabi DeMartino, Makes Cameo In 'Thank U, Next' Video & Fans Are Confused

Gabi DeMartino has been slammed for trying to copy Ariana Grande for years — and now she’s in the singer’s new music video for ‘Thank U, Next’! However, Ari’s fans are torn about whether or not to love or hate the cameo.

Ariana Grande dropped the teaser video for “Thank U, Next” on Nov. 26, featuring celeb cameos from Mean Girls star, Jonathan Bennett , Troye Sivan , and more. However, it was the inclusion of YouTube star, Gabi DeMartino , that really got fans talking! Gabi is known for parodying Ariana on her YouTube page, but her impressions aren’t always well-received by Arianators, so many were left quite confused over the singer’s decision to put her in the video.

“WTF is gabi doing in this video?” one person wrote. Another added, “Tell me why I see Gabi in the thank u, next music video preview.”

However, other fans found the cameo GENIUS. In the video, Gabi and the other celebs are featured in a Mean Girls sequence, in which they each jokingly reveal why they want to copy Queen Bee Ariana, who plays the “Regina George” character. “Ariana Grande says, ‘Honest to God, knock me out,’ so I decided to punch myself in the face,” Gabi’s character says. “It was awesome!” Since Gabi is often slammed for trying to copy Ariana, fans loved that the ladies were poking fun at her attempts to imitate the superstar.

“Y’all made fun of gabi demartino’s obsession with ariana grande so bad that ariana put her in the music video,” one fan tweeted. “LORDDD!!!! I Have seenwhat you have done for others!!” Someone else wrote, “Say what you want about whoever is in the music video but Ariana is a genius. She chose Colleen, Troye & GABI for a reason. BECAUSE THEY’LL HAVE PEOPLE TALKING!”

Exclusive: Blac Chyna's Product Launch in Lagos, Nigeria Was a Success

Remember all the threats Blac Chyna received for launching her skin lightening product in Nigeria? Well, you'll be happy to know that the product launch was successful without any violence.
Chyna, 30, teamed up with singer and entrepreneur Dencia to launch a new skin bleaching product called "Whitenicious" at a shopping center in Lagos, Nigeria on Sunday, Nov. 25.

Pictures posted on social media shows a large turnout for the event. Dencia told GoldMyne TV that Chyna was the "perfect" person to help her launch the product.

In the photo below, Chyna and Dencia pose with Bobrisky, right, a Nigerian "male Barbie" who reportedly bought several jars of the product.
A Lagos media outlet denied rumors of beef between Bobrisky and Dencia.

"Despite all the rumours about #Bobrisky unfollowing #Blacchyna and not supporting her at her launch party, looks like everything is great in friendship town."

Nigerian singer Burna Boy warned Chyna not to bring her "poison" to his country. He also warned anyone who purchased the product that they might as well commit suicide.
He wrote on Instagram.com: "You can come and shake booty sha. But leave that your poison in your house [sic]."
Dencia, who was born Reprudencia Sonkey, had some unkind words for Burna Boy. She said the rudebwoy singer only promotes drugs and can't afford to hang out with Blac Chyna.
Dencia said Burna "came out of his drug-induced coma instead of taking a shower to clean up his fart/Cig smelling looking a-- he had time to talk about a woman?"

She added: "u can’t afford her a-- if she had to shake it, stick to the druggies on the side streets u are use to."
Security was extremely tight at the product launch on Sunday. Chyna did not disclose how much money she earned for the endorsement.

Federal Government fully committed to passage of PIGB - VP Yemi Osinbajo

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Monday said that the presidency was closely working with the National Assembly for the quick passage of the Petroleum Industry Governance Bill (PIGB).
Osinbajo said this during his keynote address at the 18th international HSE Biennial conference, organised by the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) in Lagos.

According to him, “ we are working closely with the National Assembly to ensure its timely passage.’’

He said that the reforms proposed in the PIGB “reflects our collective desire to entrench transparency and sustainability of oil and gas operations in Nigeria to enable the country finally to realise the full potential of her hydrocarbon resources’’.
He said: “I am pleased to bring you the warm greetings and felicitations of President Muhammadu Buhari on this occasion of the opening ceremony of the 18th International Health Safety and Environment (HSE) Biennial Conference.
“It is noteworthy that the theme of the conference, which is centred around sustainability, dovetails seamlessly with this administration’s vision and policy for the Oil and Gas Industry as a vehicle for driving the industrialization and growth of the Nigerian economy in a transparent, responsible and sustainable manner.

“ As a gathering of all stakeholders in the oil and gas industry, I am confident that your deliberations will yield important policies and ideas that will guide government in the formulation of policies for achieving sustainable development of our oil and gas resources.
“It will also serve as a model for our other extractive industries that are not yet as mature,’’ he said.
The Vice President said that no discussion about the future of the Oil and Gas could be divorced from the Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB) which represents the most ambitious and comprehensive reform in decades of the oil and gas industry in Nigeria.
Osinbajo noted that though varied reactions had trailed Mr President’s recent decision to return the Petroleum Industry Governance Bill (PIGB) to the National Assembly for slight amendments.
He, however, noted that resolving the security challenge in the Niger Delta remained on the front burner of this administration “as we seek to create a peaceful business climate that will attract investors and bring massive development to the oil producing communities”.

He said that government was sensitive to the genuine agitations of the host communities for greater participation in and control of oil and gas resources.
The Vice President noted that the law and order element to the problem had to be tackled headlong to allow for a peaceful business environment.
“The proposals in the host community bill currently undergoing review represent a paradigm shift in the relationship between oil and gas operators and their host communities.
“And the government in collaboration with state government and other stakeholders is fully committed to comprehensive reforms that empower the communities and move them from stakeholders to actual shareholders and partners in the oil and gas business.

“This will result in the formulation of a comprehensive livelihood strategy and development plan for the Niger Delta to complement the efforts of the various interventions by the Federal Government though the Niger Delta Ministry (NDDC) and the amnesty programme.
“The Federal Government’s commitment to the ease of doing business was reflected in the Executive Order 1 signed on May 18, 2017.
“The order had five main planks including: Transparency; Default Approvals; One Government; Port Operations and Entry Experience of travellers and visitors. As the mainstay of the Nigerian Economy, there is a dire need for ease of doing business in the oil and gas sector.
“The current regime of multiple and sometimes conflicting regulators/regulations is a serious drawback on the ease of doing business in the petroleum industry.

“While we continue to seek to resolve these conflicts, using the instrument of law, I wish to remind the various agencies and ministries of their primary responsibility to promote efficient service delivery and serve as the engine room for driving the collective policy of “one government”.
“I therefore enjoin all the conflicting agencies to close ranks, fine-tune and improve cooperation and document their resolutions in binding MOUs that will ease the burden of over-regulation of the oil and gas sector,’ ’ he said.

Osinjo said: “I am also pleased to announce to this gathering of Environmental experts that the government has fully commenced the clean-up of impacted oil spill sites in the Niger Delta.
“This is a massive undertaking that reflects the government’s commitment to restoring livelihood in the Niger Delta and deserves the support of all Nigerians.’’
The vice president, however, appealed to the host communities to assume greater and more responsible stewardship of oil and gas infrastructure in their communities even as the government worked to incentivise their efforts through the host community bill.

Exclusive: Presidency says Boko Haram remains 'technically defeated' despite Metele attack

The presidency believes the recent attack in Borno does not mean that the terrorists are back in charge. Despite a recent attack by terrorist group, Boko Haram, that led to the reported death of over 100 soldiers in Borno State, the presidency has insisted that the group remains 'technically defeated'.

Even though President Muhammadu Buhari declared in 2015 that Boko Haram had been technically defeated, the group has carried out several deadly attacks since then, with an increase in the number of attacks on troops happening in 2018.

In its latest attack, terrorists overran the 157 Task Force Battalion in Metele » during an attack on Monday, November 19, 2018, carting away large cache of arms, ammunition, and military equipment after leaving the base strewn with the corpses of dozens of soldiers.

An account by a soldier who survived the attack » noted that their location was invaded after Boko Haram allegedly issued a threat letter that it would soon take over four strategic military locations around the Lake Chad region.
Even though several reports have indicated that the number of troops casualties might be as high as over 100, the Army has failed to release an official figure even though it dismissed the figures.
While speaking about the recent attack during an interview on Channels Television on Sunday, November 25, 2018, President Buhari's Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina , said the attack does not mean that the terrorists are back in charge.
He noted that the recent attack was a breach that doesn't mean the war has tipped in the favour of the terrorists.
He said, "Nigeria, we can say, is at war in that side of the country. For some time, things had eased, Nigerian Army had had the upper hand; and like the term goes, the insurgents had been technically defeated.
"But then, there's this sudden upsurge and there's that casualty figure which I do not know but which people say is on the high side. The military is the one that can tell us what actually happened."
When quizzed over if the statement that Boko Haram has been technically defeated remains accurate, Adesina replied, "I believe so. That (the recent attack) was maybe a breach in security but it does not mean that Boko Haram is having the upper hand.
"And like the president said in the statement we issued yesterday, we will still get to the end of this Boko Haram insurgency."

"This is one isolated case after a long time of the military being in charge. The military has been in charge for a long while. I agree with you this is a breach; it is sad and it is unfortunate but then, it does not mean that Boko Haram is now in charge. They are not," he later added.
In light of the criticism that has trailed the killing of the soldiers, President Buhari warned against politicising the incident » in a statement on Sunday. He promised that the circumstances surrounding the Metele attack will be comprehensively addressed.
