Exclusively - Kevin Hart to Skip Academy Awards After Don Lemon Rebuke

Kevin Hart is no longer considering returning to his hosting duties at the 2019 Oscar Awards.

Hart says he would only be a distraction if hehosted the awards in February. Hart was heavily criticized after he was announced as the 2019 Oscars host.

The announcement reignited the controversy over hisold anti-ghey comments and tweets in which Hart expressed his disappointment if his son grew up to be ghey.Following a scathing rebuke from CNN anchorman Don Lemon for his appearance onThe Ellen DeGeneres Showon Friday, Hart pleaded for understanding on social media.

In an Instagram post, the"Get Hard"star pleaded for the opportunity to learn from his mistakes."Basketball players aren't great until they LEARN how to play the game correctly,"he tweeted."A news anchor or journalist does not start at the top... they have to LEARN to develop to be great at their job."He added:
"When did we get to the point where we forgot that we all learn, then we all have the ability to grow and with that growth comes a wealth of knowledge. You can't change without a [sic] understanding of what GROWTH means."
During Kevin's appearance onThe Ellen DeGeneres Show, she defended the comedian and asked him to reconsider returning as Oscars host. The openly lesbian host also told Hart not to pay attention to "online haters" and told him that "as a gay person" she could appreciate him backing down and submitting to her.Varietymagazine backed up Ellen's assertion that Academy bosses are open to him being reinstated as host -- as long as he has a"meaningful" conversation about his old tweets.According to CNN anchorman Don Lemon, that"meaningful" conversation didn't take place onEllen's show."For many in the gay community, especially in the black community, the Twitter apologieson Ellen have fallen flat," Lemon said. He accused Kevin of "turning himself into a victiminstead of acknowledging the real victims of violent and sometimes deadly homophobia."Lemon, 52, added: "That was a joke to Kevin. The truth is, that is a reality for many little boys in the United States. Somewhere a black dad is beating his black son."He went on to say how his friend, filmmaker Lee Daniels, was "thrown into a trash can" by his dad for being gay and claimed Hart needed to do more to challenge homophobia [inthe Black community] before he could be forgiven for his past remarks.GLAAD President and CEO Sarah Kate Ellis said she reached outto Hart's camp multiple times, but she did not get a response."Kevin Hart shouldn't have stepped down; he should have stepped up," said Ellis.
"Hart's apology to LGBTQ people is an important step forward, but he missed a real opportunity to use his platform and the Oscars stage to build unity and awareness. We would still welcome that conversation with him."However, sources told Deadline that Hart has now changed his mind about taking the job because he feels hosting the Oscars would be a distraction.

Comedian, Kevin Hart Says Tiffany Haddish Still Hasn’t Paid Back Loan

Kevin Hart is still waiting for Tiffany Haddish to pay back money he gave her during lean times when she was a struggling comedienne. Kevin and Tiffany knew each other long before they were both household names.
Kevin lunched last week with his wife
Eniko Parrish and their kids, daughter
Heaven and sons Hendrix and Kenzo .

Kevin and Tiffany are promoting their new film Night School , which tells the story of a group of troublemakers who are forced to attend night classes in the hopes they will pass the GED exam to finish high school.

During an interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Thursday night, Kevin shared that he lent Tiffany some money when she was going through a rough patch in life.

“She was living out of her car, nobody knew, she was trying to keep it a secret. And something just wasn’t right, something wasn’t sitting right, and I was like, ‘Yo, you alright? Is everything O.K. with you?’ And she was like, ‘Yeah, yeah I’m fine.’ And randomly I’m like, ‘Where do you live at?’ She couldn’t answer the questions and that’s when I found out she was living out of a car,” he recalled.

Hart said his pockets were light, too, but his heart went out to Tiffany.
“of course, I was nowhere near Kevin Hart today but in my pocket, I had $300. And I was like here, I don’t know what your situation is but hopefully this can do something for you in this time because I feel like you’re not telling me something.”
Kevin later found out that Tiffany had used the money to stay in a motel for a week.

Though they fell out of touch for a long time, once Tiffany hit the big time, they reconnected. And the Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle actor teased that he’s still waiting for his pal to repay the $300.
“Until this day, she’s yet to bring up the money to give it back,” the 38-year-old laughed. “I don’t want to make a big deal out of it. It’s one of those things where I’m waiting on her to say it. And when she says it, I’ll be like, ‘Yeah (don’t worry about it).'”

Previously, the Girls Trip star told
Vanity Fair that she tried to repay Kevin on two occasions — when he cast her in parody show Real Husbands of Hollywood and again when she got the part in Night School .
