CELEBRITY - Henry Knight blasts P-square’s Mr. P for allegedly stealing his song

A budding Nigerian singer Henry Knight hascalled outMr Pof the defunct P-square groupover an alleged stealing of his intellectual property.

According to Henry Knight, Mr P’s newly released song, ‘Ebeano’ has some materials directly lifted from his song and he was not given any credit for this, neither was he contacted before the song was produced.

In a lengthy message posted on Instagram, Henry Knight, revealed how A-list acts tend to get away with content theft, adding that most of these acts are never ready to help you grow but would rather rip you off and make so much profit off your property.

He even cited the case of Davido and rising singer Teni, whom Davido acknowledged for using materials fromher song.

And he went further to mention that already established artistes should use this medium to assist the budding ones as just a single acknowledgement couldbe all they need to rise too in the Industry.

Here’s his post in full;“Everyday in the Nigeria Music Industry, most of the biggest artistes who never for once help you even when you reach out to them in growing time of need for a collaboration or any other, tend to get away with ripping youoff and making profit out of your property.

“Dear Peter okoye @peterpsquareI released a song called Ebano on the 8th of August 2015 with hard earned Money which was produced by TeeMode, You copiedthe hook of the song without any form of royalty that is required or any form of credit to me..

We have seen other cases like when Davido credited Teni for “like that” it’s clearly true that You rise by lifting others.“Henry knight is not all about this drama, I had to do this, because this is not the first time something like this is happening.”

Earlier, Peter had sent a termination letter to their lawyer Festus Keyamo (SAN), demanding for a termination of the agreement between Psquare.

In the letter, he defends his decision by making some serious allegations against his twin Paul and older brother/group manager Jude.

Peter Okoye who has obviously gone solo and he now refers to himself as Mr P took to twitter to make this fact known.
