Governor Ayodele Fayose declares President Buhari is a rejected president

The governor of Ekiti State,Peter Ayodele Fayose has declared President Muhammadu Buhari a rejected president who has failed the Nigerian masses.

Buhari is a rejected president – Governor Fayose declares the Governor made this declaration in a statement issued in Ado-Ekiti by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Idowu Adelusi The Statement reads:“Buhari says he is seeking re-election to protect Nigerians? Tell him Nigerians need no spurious ‘protection’ from him. Nigerians from all walks of life have rejected this man and dismissed the many propaganda of Buhari’s APC government as lies from the pit of hell.“Buhari and APC have only used the power they hold in trust for the people to suppress, oppress, intimidate, victimise, and destroy our people.“Buhari says what he is expected to do; that is, to protect us, but which is actually not what he is doing.

We are calling on him to protect us from killers and murderers but Buhari has failed to do that in four years. He has instead defended them again and again. What magic will he now perform if re-elected into office?”The governor further bewailed the persistent and cruel destruction brought upon  Nigeriansby Buhari/APC.“Do we talk of his human rights abuses or the daily killing of innocent but hapless and helpless Nigerians under his watch, which have surpassed any in peace-time Nigeria?“The country itself is drifting as a result of Buhari’s mindless tribalism and nepotism, which have polarised Nigerians like never before.“

The Nigerian economy, which was the largest in Africa and one of the fastest-growing in the world, isnow in a shambles dueto Buhari/APC’s pig-headed policies and pussy-footing when prompt and appropriate decisions were needed to pilot the ship of state.“In free and fair elections, there is no way Buhari/APC can return to power. And talking about free and fair elections, a legacy handed down to Buhari/APC has been shamelessly ruined by them as our elections are no longer free and fair.“Today under Buhari/APC, joblessness, hopelessness, depression, and despondency envelop the nation. Oppression, repression, suppression, and untold suffering have become the order of the day.“

It is political rascality and unbridled partisanship carried too far when Mr. President repeatedly declines to sign the Electoral Bill into law in an election in which he intends to be a participant. The fate of a whole nation, the efforts of our heroes past, and the progress of our renascent democracy thus hang in the balance on the altar of ego-tripping and cold-blooded calculations to despotically cling to power.“And should he be forthright enough to commission an independent and objective survey of the current level of his goodwill, he will just go back home and rest.“There is little or nothing left of the huge goodwill that brought Buhari into office. He has frittered it all!”

PUNCH - Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose confronts INEC, police, DSS with video evidence

Ekiti State Governor , Ayodele Fayose, on Tuesday , confronted the Independent National Electoral Commission with video evidence of pre - loading of card readers in the state.

The challenge came a day after a National Commissioner with INEC, Mrs Aminat Zakari, challenged the governor to prove allegations that she had conspired with three others to pre - load card readers, supply faulty card readers and provide ballot papers for stuffing of ballot boxes, Fayose also tackled the Commissioner of Police , Mr Ahmed Bello and the Director of the Department of State Services, Mrs Promise Ihenacho, for allegedly deploying security aides of former governor Kayode Fayemi to Ekiti State to rig the July 14 governorship election .

The governor pointed out that Fayemi’s ex- Chief Security Officer, Hakeem Abiola, and former Aide de camp, Adeyemi Ajayi , were already in the state to coordinate indiscriminate arrest of the members of the opposition .
Fayose spoke at a town hall meeting organised by the Nigeria Civil Society Situation Room for governorship candidates in Ado Ekiti on Tuesday .

The Chairman on the occasion , Mr Clement Nwakwo , said the essence of the meeting was to extract assurances from INEC , security agencies and candidates that the coming election would be credible.
He said, “We are going to hold INEC accountable for whatever happens and that is why it is good for the security to be helpful and we know they won ’ t default in this regard .

”The governor tendered video evidence of people allegedly pre -loading card readers in Akure ahead of the July 14 governorship election to the National Commissioner in charge of Ekiti , Osun and Oyo states, Mr Solomon Soyebi .
Fayose said, “This is the evidence of people pre - loading card readers in Akure. Any officer who is seen to be biased should be relieved of any sensitive assignment . ”

But dismissing the video, Soyebi said the card readers to be used for the election were already in Ekiti and had not been configured .
“I know the information will come to you, but they are fake . The card readers will only start working on the day of the election . A lot of people will be giving you information, a lot of them will be fake ,” he said.

Also, the INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakub , described the governor’ s allegations as untrue and baseless .
Yakub in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary , Rotimi Oyekanmi , stressed that it was impossible for anyone to rig the election in favour of any candidate .
Rather than malign them at press conferences , Yakub urged the governor to make any evidence of wrongdoing available to the Commission for appropriate action . ”

“We wish to emphasise that it is impossible for the Commission’s officials, any individual or group for that matter to pre - load the Smart Card Readers or provide ballot papers for stuffing as alleged , ” he said.
Yakub explained that the SCRs performed three functions : identifying, verifying and authenticating the voter and the PVC , adding that it could only function on the election day .

“In addition to the results sheets that we issue to party agents at the Polling Units and at every level of collation, the Commission also deliberately introduced Form EC60 E to show election results at the Polling Units, which is the most important level. This form is pasted at every Polling Unit after collation,” he added.

INEC reiterated its resolve to conduct a credible , free and fair election that would be a model for other elections in Nigeria .

Fayose calls out Buhari for not sending him birthday greetings

Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose has called out President Muhammadu Buhari for not sending him any message to congratulate him on his 57th birthday.

Fayose said he deserved to be sent a congratulatory message from the Presidency as “one of the governors in Nigeria and a leading opposition figure in the country.”
Speaking with reporters at the Government House, as part of the occasions to mark his 57th birthday.

Fayose said
“one of his greatest wishes on his 57th birthday was to have woken up this morning to receive congratulatory message from President Muhammadu Buhari or read such message in the media.”
“My wishes on my 57th birthday as Ayo Fayose are many but one of them which will interest you is that I wish President Buhari’s congratulatory call would have woken me up today as one of the governors in the country, as a father of the nation and as a leading opposition figure in the country.
“(The President ought to congratulate me as) a fearless young man who believes that things should be done rightly to show himself (Buhari) as a father of all, preaching that we must extend love to everybody not only those in his political party.

“The President would have made a difference if he had extended such gesture to others beyond his political party. Such a congratulatory message should have been conveyed through his Minister of Information.
“I would have loved to either wake up receiving a congratulatory call from him or read it in the papers. But since it is not coming, it is not a big deal to me and I take no offence on it.

“I am not Buhari’s enemy; opposition is the strength of democracy, it ensures that the electorates get value for their votes. Those who criticize your government are not your enemies, they are catalysts to your growth as a government.

“I remain a factor no one can ignore in this country. Apart from the fact that I am a leading opposition (figure), Nigerians respect my voice; they believe that I don’t compromise the truth no matter whose ox is gored.”
