Checkout Falz’ reply to a follower who asked him if he still loves Simi

Nigerian rapper, Folarin Falana A.K.A Falz The Bahd Guy is on Twitter fielding questions from fans with the hashtag, #RhythmasFalz.

Many of the rapper’s fans have used the opportunity to ask the “Jeje” crooner, about things they’ve always wanted to know about him.

Oneparticular question that came of interest to us by one of his fans, is the one which involved singing sensation, Simi.

For a period of time, there’d been speculations that the rapper and Simi were romantically involved. Their undeniable chemistry whenever they do a duet in recording songs even fueled the speculations more.

It however came as a surprise to fans when social media was set abuzz with the news that she married colleague, Adekunle Gold in a private wedding ceremony in Lagos, earlier this year.

Participating in the #RhythmasFalz, a fan asked the rapper if he still loves the “Joromi” singer and his answer was indecisive.

Falz says he might sue NBC if ban on ‘This is Nigeria’ is not lifted

Falz reacted to the ban on his song ‘This is Nigeria’ which they say containsvulgar words, has threatened to sue the agency a day after he shared a letter which revealed that a Radio Station in Jos was fined for playing the song.

The call for the song’s ban had first been made by MURIC, who claimed that some ladies in hijab were dancing Shaku Shaku and they believed it was against the Islamic religion, but their pleas fell on deaf ears. However announcing the song’s ban this week, the NBC said;

This is Nigeria, look how we living now. Everybody be criminal,” stating that it made the song vulgar and it was in contravention of Section 3.6.1 and 3.13.2.2 of its constitution.Falz who disclosed that he felt it was ridiculous for the commission to ban the song, argued that it was not a vulgar song but a socially conscious piece of art which addresses the current issues in the country.

FALZ - Nigerians applaud singer over sexual violence video

Nigerians and the Domestic and Sexual Violence Response Team (DSVRT) have lauded singer, Folarin Falana a.k.a Falz for addressing sexual violence in his latest music video.

The reactions came after the award wining artiste announced the release of the video titled “Child of the world” on his social media platform @falzthebahdguy FALZ – “Child Of The World” official video out”
According to DSVRT, it acknowledged Falz’s effort to speak up about “real life issues” on their official twitter account.
@DSVRT “We would like to use this medium to appreciate Falz for spreading the word on Sexual Abuse in the recently released video for his song, Child of the World.
“Together we will tackle this menace. Thank you for pointing Survivors in the direction of Help and Justice @falzthebahdguy”.
There has been a popular demand for Nigerian music artistes to use their art to speak on issues affecting the Nigerian society and lifestyle.”
While Some Nigerians took to Twitter to praise the idea behind the music video others called on more artistes to do same .

Others said the idea behind the song was well depicted by ex Big Brother Naija housemate Bambam in the music video.
She acted as the “Child of the world” who was sexually harassed by her uncle.

Also, societal pressure forced her to get involved in sexual acts with rich men to raise money to live a certain standard of life.
This latest video is reminiscent of the music video titled “This is Nigeria” which was released by Falz earlier this year, also touching on issues affecting the Nigerian populace.

Meanwhile, Kemi Adetiba the music video director, thanked Nigerians for the feedback on the new video as it is currently YouTube’s number 1 trending video.

Muslim group, gives Falz 7days to withdraw his music video, This is Nigeria

Nigerian music star, Falz, whose ‘This is Nigeria’ music video which captured some iills that has befallen Nigeria as a country went viral some days ago, has suffered some knocks as a Muslim group, The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) have asked him to withdraw his ‘This is Nigeria’ video and apologize to Nigerians, or face legal action.

Recall that some girls dressed in hijab were seen dancing the “shaku shaku” dance in the video.  However after he was criticized for the stunt, Falz explained that the girls were a representation ofthe abducted Chibok girls still in Boko Haramcaptivity. However in a statement by Ishaq Akintola, MURIC’s Director,  the group claimed the dancers in the video in no way depict the situation of the girls.

They also condemned “a character that dressed like a Fulani man, who suddenly abandoned his traditional guitar and beheaded a man” featured in the video.The Muslim Group who described the video as “thoughtless, insensitive and highly provocative,” and could brew religious and ethnic crisis. According to them, the video is spiteful and intended to denigrate Islam and Muslims.

The statement reads;“MURIC rejects Falz’ explanation that the girls in hijab in his ‘Shaku Shaku’ dance symbolize the Chibok girls because nothingin the video indicates that the girls represent the Chibok girls,” the statement read.“At least none of the Chibok girls have been seen dancing like a drunkard. They are always in pensive mood. Do they have any cause to be dancing? Are they happy?“The video manifests ethnic bias against Fulanis while it ignored the criminal activities of ethnic militia of the Middle Belt who have also massacred Fulanis and rustled their cattle in their thousands.“It is a hate video.

This video has the potential of causing religious crisis of unprecedented dimension.“It is an assault on the self-dignity of every Muslim. It is freedom of expression gone haywire.“We therefore demand its withdrawal and an apology to Nigerian Muslims within sevendays or the authors and their agents will face legal action if they fail to comply.“Only the scenes portraying police brutality and the money-swallowing snake in the video arenear the truth.”The group called on security agencies and the National Film And Video Censors Board (NFVCB) to clamp down on the video.

“We call the attention of security agencies to this hate action,” the statement continued.“We remind Nigeriansof the outcome of similar provocative actions in the past and their unpalatable outcomes.“The National Film And Video Censors Board (NFVCB), a regulatory agency setup by Act No. 85 of 1993 to regulate filmsand the video industry has a case toanswer. ‘Shaku Shaku’ video was shot and released under its watch.“Instead of going violent, Nigerian Muslims should take those behind the ‘Shaku Shaku’ video to court in order to serve as a deterrent to others.

“We therefore give notice of impending legal action against the artist behind the ‘Shaku Shaku’ video unless the latter is withdrawn and an apology is widely published within seven days.”

Popular Nigerian rapper, Falz whose new music This Is Nigeriahas not only gone viral, but has been tagged controversial by some quarters over the costume used in the music video.

In the video, some girls could be seen dancing shaku shaku in Hijab and this has been considered wrong by some Muslim faithfuls, but the rapper has insisted that it was intentional and no goingback.In an interview with an online TV outfit, the rapper spoke in-depth into the message the music video was sending and how the costume of the dancers also have a message forNigerians.

”It was very intentional. We continue to forget or neglect the innocence of the girl child and because of all the issues that wer are having, the kidnappings and the killings especially in the Northern part of the country, the Chibok girls and very more recently the Dapchi girls.

It is very disturbing and we don’t often talk about them and I was a bit surprised to hear people say why would you put girls in Hijab to dance Shaku Shaku…common, is there anything wrong with people dancing because they are wearing Hijabs? Is their any law against that? Falz said Falz has however been given an ultimatum of 7 days by a certain Muslim group to take down the video.

A Nigerian Muslim lady has come out to blast Falz for using ladies on Hijab as dancers in his trending, This is Nigeria,music video.

Over the weekend, Nigerian rapper, Falz The Bahd guy released a new video, “This is Nigeria” – which is a cover of foreign rapper, Childish Gambino’s “This is America”. Sinceits release, the song hasbeen trending and drawing all sorts of reactions from the public.

Obviously the reactions have been both positive and negative.His video has been buzzing all over social media because of its contents and the messages he passed across through it.While some people are showering him encomiums, as even popular american musician, Diddy, showed his love for he cover, a particular Nigerian Muslim lady is not quite happy that he used dancers wearing Hijab in the video.

The lady says his actions has trampled onher dignity and pride. In her own words, she said;I really am disappointed. Why of all things to use, he decided to degrade the hijab. It shows hislevel of social etiquette. No matter the message passed across, he has trampled on our dignity and pride…

American Hiphop Star, Diddy Commends Nigerian Rapper, Falz Over New Video

Sean Combs aka Diddy, has hailed Folarin ‘Falz’ Falana over his new single, ‘This is Nigeria’, a cover of Childish Gambino’s ‘This is America’.

Mirroring the concept used by the American musician/filmmaker born Donald Glover, Falz, who’s also a multi-faceted entertainer, used his song to address a number of societal issues in Nigeria.

The video which was released late on Friday was received with widespread acclaim, and criticism from some quarters, largely due to the topical issues highlighted in it.

Reacting to the video which has since gone viral, Diddy, owner of Revolt TV and Bad Boy Records, posted a short clip on his Instagram page.

While acknowledging the Nigerian rapper/comic-actor, he wrote: “#Nigeria LETS GO!”
‘This is Nigeria’ was produced by Wande Thomas and the video was directed by Prodigeezy.

On the song, Falz raps about the menace of Fulani herdsmen, codeine epidemic among Nigerian youth, the much-panned special anti-robbery squad (SARS), internet fraud also known as ‘yahoo yahoo’, the Chibok and Dapchi schoolgirls abduction.

“SARS Officers Violated My Human Rights, They Slapped My Manager” – Falz

A mass of Nigerian social media users recently campaigned against the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), sharing testaments to the illicit acts and other evil works of the SARS officers.

To contribute to the campaign against SARS, Falz shared his experience with officers of the infamous group, in an interview with The NET.

“On this particular day, they spotted us somewhere in Lagos and double-crossed us, they then asked us to come down from our car.
My manager tried to have a conversation with them but before he knew it, they gave him a dirty slap, he was close to tears.

They said they would arrest us and take us their station. I wanted to sue them, not as a lawyer, but solely because they violated my human rights, but then, it is really sad that they think because they have guns, they think they are in a position of power and they use these to oppress poor Nigerians,” he said.
The ‘Something Light ‘ rapper suggested possible solutions to the issue of police brutality, Falz said;
“The entire police force needs a revamp.

The problem is that so many of them are not as educated as they should be, so they treat people in a certain way. People are speaking up because things have gone out of hand. These are the men who are supposed to protect us, but they are opening fire on us. They have resulted to targeting young guys. These days, once they see a young man looking flashy, they automatically think you are a yahoo boy.”

Falz comes hard at Yahoo Boys in new song 'Confirm'

It's obvious that Falz is not a fan of Yahoo Boys...,he has made it known several times, but now he raises the bar by dedicating a full song to his preaching against Internet fraudsters.

On the single 'Confirm', one of the tracks off his recent surprise album, 27, Falz didn’t hold back his displeasure towards Internet fraudsters, calling them thieves.
On the first verse, Falz raps;“Internet gangster, this the first chapter/ This brother just hammer, he collect from one maga/ Him steal person money, na hin he wan dey form swagga/ Everyday for the thief, one day for karma/ So you happy when you log into your online haven, and when you getting richer off another mans savings/ Stop explaining, that be lazy, No excuse you fit give them, No be only una wey be victim of the system/ No, you no be hustler, that one no be work sir

He continues; “You wan carry duffel duffel, instead make you hustle double, hoping you will realize you’re not in a real life, you’re not sharper than the nigga rocking a pins stripe/ Person talk small, you left threats in the comment section, you never got attention,then you try to flood the mention/ You don forget say this person get some got protection, Get your ass up before you end up for detention.”Recall that, a few months earlier, Falz broke the internet after he called out artistes who glorify internet fraudsters on an interview with HipTV.

“You are a role model to the younger ones and you are hailing fraudsters, you are making the younger ones feel it is good to do it. Stop it! It is destroying our future,” he said on the interview.

Falz noted that the effects of such songs were destructive to the younger generation, stressing that artistes should rather engage in singing meaningful songs.
