Star Player, Neymar explains his gesture against Mexico

Brazil forward Neymar has explained his gesture against Mexico after he scored the first goal for the Selecao in the 2-0 win over The Tricolour in the World Cup round of 16 at the Samara Arena in Russia on Monday.

Neymar blamed a Mexico player for talking too much during the clash between the two teams after he had an argument with Miguel Layun in the second half of the tie.

"It was unfair, as the ball wasn't in play and we were off the field," he said.

"[The Mexicans] talked a lot, too much, and went home."
Neymar went on to applaud his team's effort during the tournament.
"I want to congratulate the whole team," he added.

"There are moments of the game in which, sometimes, you have to suffer.

"Mexico are a very good team, but we showed a lot of quality."
Neymar and his teammate will play Belgium in the quarter-final after The Red Devil defeated Japan 3-2 to advance to the next stage of the tournament.
