World Cup, Russia 2018 - Argentina 3-4 France, Messi crashesout as Mbappe shines

Lionel Messi and his Argentina teammates have crashed out of the World Cup after they were beaten 4-3 by France in their Round of 16clashon Saturday.

While Messi was largely kept quiet on Saturday, French youngster, Kylian Mbappe stole the show as France recorded a thrilling 4-3 victory over Argentina in Saturday's last-16 clash in Kazan.

Mbappe with his stunning burst of pace earned a penalty for France in the early stages before a quick-fire double from the PSG forward after the break put his team in control.

Antoine Griezmann and Benjamin Pavard - in some style - also netted for France as goals from Angel Di Maria, Gabriel Mercado and Sergio Aguero proved in vain.With France proceeding into thequarter finals, they will face either Portugal or Uruguay.

For Argentina, they will be catching the next flight to Buenos Aires with alot of retirements and other massive sweeping changes expected in the coming days.
