Exclusive Update: Prince Harry, Meghan Markle welcome a baby boy

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex welcomed their baby boy today at 5.26am, Buckingham Palace announced. The new parents are said to be thrilled at the arrival of the new Royal baby, who weighed 7lbs 3oz.

Meghan went into labour in the early hours of this morning after being overdue for more than a week. 

Speakingfrom Windsor, Prince Harry said: “I’m very excited to announce that Meghan and myself had a baby boy this morning, a very healthy baby boy. I’m so incredibly proud of my wife.”

He added: “It’s brilliant, I’m absolutely thrilled. We’re really grateful for all the love and support shown to us. It’s been overdue so we have had a little bit of time to think about names so that’s the next bit.

“I haven’t been at many births. This is my first birth. It was amazing and absolutely incredible. I’m incredibly proud of my wife.

“Every father and parent will say your baby is absolutely amazing but this little thing is absolutely to die for. I’m over the moon.”

In a statement, Buckingham Palace said Meghan and her child were “both doing well”, and that the Queen was “delighted” with the news. It also revealed that Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland was currently with Meghan at Frogmore Cottage, suggesting Meghan eventually had a home birth as she wanted.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will move to Windsor early next year as they prepare for the arrival of their first child, Kensington Palace has announced.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have lived in Nottingham Cottage -- a house within the grounds of Kensington Palace in London -- since they were engaged last year.

Their new home will be Frogmore Cottage on the Windsor Estate, west of London, the palace said.

According to the statement, the Duke and Duchess's official office will continue to be based at Kensington Palace, where Harry's elder brother Prince William lives with his family.

TMZ also quoted a palace source as saying the woman in the photo is not Meghan and that the dog is not the duchess' either.

She has a brown, black and white rescue beagle named Guy. It was recently reported she and Harry recently obtained a Labrador. Just before she moved to London to be with Harry last year, the duchess left a Labrador-Shepherd mix named Bogart to live with friends, reportedly due to his advanced age.
In addition, the entrance to Meghan and Harry's Kensington Palace residence is nowhere near the location of the photo, which is located on a road named York HousePlace, near a few apartment buildings that are not the homes of royalty.

The surrounding areas directly around the palace are not accessible to the public and the gardens and the roads around it are typically filled with residents and tourists.
But the name of the road in the photo may lend a clue to the confusion: Harry's grandmother Queen Elizabeth II reportedly gifted the prince and Meghan a country home, York Cottage, from her Sandringham Estate, as a wedding gift.

Meghan Markle Forced To Give Up Her Favourite Food As The Queen Bans It From Palace Menu

There are a lot of rules royalty must follow.From how to dress to the right way to walk and talk, Meghan Markle will have had to make many changes to her lifestyle when she became the Duchess of Sussex.

As well as learning new habits, the former actress will also have to make some big changes to her diet.
This is because certain foods are off the menu at Buckingham Palace . According to royal chef Darren McGrady, the Queen won't allow some of Meghan's favourite foods, with carbs not typically served at the palace.

He said that the carb ban was a personal choice of the Queen, who prefers not to serve rice, pasta and potatoes.

Pasta is said to be one of Meghan's favourite foods.
In 2013, she is quoted in The New Potato as saying that a “leisurely dinner of seafood and pasta” would feature in her ideal day of food.
Similarly during an interview with Delish.com , the 36-year-old revealed her go-to meal was a pasta and slow-cooked courgette (or zucchini as the Americans call it) dish.

The courgette is cooked for five hours until it breaks down into a "filthy, sexy mush" to stir into pasta.
"The sauce gets so creamy, you'd swear there's tons of butter and oil in it, but it's just zucchini, water and a little bouillon," the Duchess said.
It's also previously been reported that she has had to give up eating another dish she loves - seafood.
Royal Butler Grant Harrold said the royal family do not eat seafood out of fear of getting food poisoning.
He told the Express : “It is a very sensible move to abandon having seafood when out and about on public duties.
“We don't want a member of the Royal family having a serious reaction to food poisoning, especially if she is on an overseas tour.”

Mr Harrold added: “As well as shellfish, it would also be quite appropriate for foods such as foie gras to be avoided.”
Other rules Meghan now has to follow include not being allowed to vote, no selfies, no autographs and she must always travel with a black outfit in case a member of the royal family dies.

Meghan’s dramatic weight loss and choice of frumpy outfits prompted her father, Thomas Markle to say he is worried that his daughter is having a difficult time adjusting to royal life.

“My thing about my daughter right now is that I think she is terrified,” he tells The Sun. “I see it in her eyes, I see it in her face and I see it in her smile. I’ve seen her smile for years. I know her smile. I don’t like the one I’m seeing now. This one isn’t even a stage smile – this is a pained smile. I think she’s under too much pressure.

There’s a high price to pay to be married to that family.”
Thomas said he hasn’t spoken to his daughter since before the wedding when staged photos of himself for a hefty fee.

Between 2200 GMT May 19 and 2300 GMT May 20, 6,604,498 tweets were posted worldwide on the royal nuptials, of which 5.2 million bore the hashtag #RoyalWedding, the French firm said. That compared with 1,821,669 tweets across a similar timeframe for Prince William when he married Kate Middleton back on April 29, 2011 when Twitter, founded in 2006, was in its relative infancy.

The most picked up post was by Lucy Sempey and was retweeted nearly 105,000 times. It was a photograph of Markle outside Buckingham Palace as a teen with the message: "One day you’re 15 and posing outside Buckingham palace and 22 years later you’re marrying the Prince. Unreal."

Meghan Markle and her mother, Doria Ragland are all smiles as they arrived to the Cliveden House Hotel on the National Trust’s Cliveden Estate, where they are spending the night before Meghan’s wedding to Prince Harry on Saturday, May 18, in Berkshire, England.

Doria, 62, arrived in England on Wednesday to attend her daughter’s wedding to Prince Harry. She plans to wear a Burberry dress to the wedding.

Kensington Palace denies reports (mainly from American media) that the biracial actress will “modernize” the British royal family.

According to the Washington Post , Meghan, 36, will not be outspoken on racial issues because she will abide by “The heavy restrictions placed on political speech and activities of the royal family.”
Washington Post writer, Karen Attiah, who is black, notes that “having Barack Obama as president did not usher us into a “post-racial” society.”

More importantly, though, a study of British and (European) history shows that it’s not “modern” to have a black or mixed-race person in the royal family or aristocratic society.
