Meghan Markle’s Friend Jennifer Meyer Can’t Use The Duchess’ Image To Sell Her Jewelry, Says Buckingham Palace

Meghan Markle’s friend Jennifer Meyer is a successful designer whose jewelry line is popular with Hollywood A-listers like Jennifer Aniston, Taylor Swift, Scarlett Johansson, Chrissy Teigen, Reese Witherspoon, and Kate Hudson. Markle has also worn Meyer’s pieces on numerous occasions, including her “mummy” necklace which she wore to her New York baby shower in February.

But now, officials at Buckingham Palace have ordered Meyer to remove pictures of Markle from her Instagram page and website, and they have told the 42-year-old that she can no longer use the Duchess of Sussex’s image to advertise her jewelry.

“Jennifer Meyer has been told to remove the images and in no uncertain terms how damaging this could be for Meghan and the Royal Family,” an insider told The Daily Mirror.

A senior palace spokesman didn’t go into details when speaking to the publication, but he did confirm that Jennifer Meyer Jewelry did breach a non-disclosure agreement.

In addition to wearing the $850 18-carat gold “mummy” necklace to her New York baby shower, Markle also wore a “calming and protective” three-stone turquoise necklace from Meyer to introduce baby Archie Harrison to the world back in May.

“To be part of such an incredible, historic, beautiful moment was an honor,” Meyer told People after Archie Harrison’s introduction. “I get really excited when I see her [Markle] in our pieces – she just radiates amazing energy.”

Meyer – who shares two children with her ex-husband, actor Tobey Maguire – said that Markle does a lot of her own styling, and is pretty specific about picking out her clothes and jewelry. She added that being part of that is “just awesome.”

Meghan Markle no longer appears on Meyer’s website or Instagram page, but other A-listers are still in pics showing off Jennifer Meyer’s designs.

Jennifer Aniston even included Meyer’s 18-karate gold medium hammered hoop earrings that sell for $2,750 on her list of “must haves” when she was featured on the cover of InStyle in October. And, Taylor Swift wore the Pink Opal Inlay Heart Ring with Diamonds when she graced Time Magazine’s cover for the 100 Most Influential People issue, which sells for $4,750.
