Christian Navarro Reveals He Might Just Play Prince Eric In The Live-Action Little Mermaid Remake – The ’13 Reasons Why’ Actor Is Excited!

After Harry Styles reportedly turned it down, the role of Prince Eric in the upcoming live-action remake of The Little Mermaid is still for grabs! That being said, one pretty familiar face in Hollywood is publicly campaigning for it – 13 Reasons Why’s Christian Navarro!

The 28 year old actor took to social media to retweet an older post of his in which he’d referenced the fact that Styles had turned down the offer to play prince Eric.

In response, he tweeted at the time: ‘So I heard Harry Styles passed on Prince Eric, well…I can sing. Black Ariel/Latino Prince…no one’s called but Season 3 drops next week and think it’s one hell of an audition.’

You may have been able to tell but the post also mentioned the casting of Halle Bailey as the main character, Ariel, as well as the release of 13 Reasons Why’s third season.

In his new post, Navarro had some great news: ‘Idk what happened to the other tweet but @disney saw this, saw your support, and gave my team a call. They wanted to see what I could do. Tapes sent. Fingers crossed. Let’s make some history. Let me know! @DisneyStudios.’

The Little Mermaid’s remake has been quite the center of attention when it comes to its casting as people seem to really care about hiring the perfect actor to portray their favorite animated characters.

That being said, for months, there’s been speculation on who would get each role as well as controversy when Disney announced they were going with a different looking Ariel, hiring Bailey.

Many were overjoyed while others not so much, causing a bit of a racial discussion online.
