Black Panther II Release Date Revealed – May 6th, 2022

According to a report from BET.com, much of the Black Panther fan base has been aware of the fact a new sequel to the movie is on its way. Multiple reports have finally revealed a release date, however, following the announcement from Kevin Feige, the president of Marvel Studios.

Yesterday, Saturday, the 24th of August, the president of the studio was on the stage of Disney’s D23 Expo in Anaheim, California, along with Ryan Coogler, the director for the first movie, to announce the date of the next Black Panther installment.

The duo took the stage to say that the Black Panther II film is coming out in theaters on the 6th of May, 2022. Even though it’s still approximately three years from May of 2022, social media appears to be elated at the news.

The release date has shocked some fans of the movie due to the recent media reports revolving around the upcoming sequel. For instance, one month ago in July, Feige claimed rumors of Black Panther II were just that: rumors.

“It’s early, so nothing is set yet in any way that far,” the president said before the crowd. The very first Black Panther movie, which came out in February 2018, took home three Oscars, including for costume design, best original score, as well as production.

Moreover, the movie took home around $700,000,000. In terms of who will be on the screen, as well as behind the camera, reports haven’t discovered the information yet. This marks yet another sequel and/or reboot made by major film studios.

This past year, Disney, in particular, has released several reboots of some of their most classic movies, The Lion King and Aladdin among them.

Rumor has it that studios are no longer willing to take the risk on brand new stories and narratives, considering audiences seem to be more keen to go to the theater movies based on pre-established brands and narratives. Regardless, fans can look forward to seeing the next Black Panther in 2022.
