Nigerian comedian, King Bright has reacted to the endorsement deal recently secured by controversial Nollywood actress Etinosa Idemudia.

According to him, girls like Etinosa who became famous after she stripped for an Instagram live video few months ago are bagging the deals while decent girls aren’t celebrated.

A Nigerian woman has given birth to a baby on the same day that she was getting married to her husband.

According to one Cynthia Chidimma Ezike, who shared the story on her Facebook page, the woman who gave birth is her brother’s wife.

UPDATE, April 29 1:17pm: John Singleton will be taken off life support today, April 29, his family confirmed in a statement to our sister site, Deadline. “It is with heavy hearts we announce that our beloved son, father and friend, John Daniel Singleton will be taken off of life support today,” a spokesperson for the family said in a statement. “This was an agonizing decision, one that our family made, over a number of days, with the careful counsel of John’s doctors. We are grateful to his fans, friends and colleagues for the outpour of love and prayers during this incredibly difficult time. UPDATE, April 29 10:10am: John Singleton’s publicist confirmed to HollywoodLife, “John is still on life support,” and that the reporting from FOX4 that he died this morning is “inaccurate.” The Kansas City news station reported on April 29 that John’s family told their film critic, Shawn Edwards, that the Boyz n the Hooddirector passed away after suffering a stroke and being placed in a medically-induced coma on April 17.

UPDATE, April 29 9:55am: while John’s family told FOX4 that the director passed away, his publicist told TMZthat he is reportedly still alive and on life support at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in LA. He is reportedly still in a medically-induced coma and “not getting better” after suffering a stroke on April 17. HollywoodLife has reached out to John’s publicist for clarification.

ORIGINAL: John Singleton is leaving behind a respectable legacy in the entertainment industry, after he passed away at the age of 51 on April 29. His family announced the sad news in a statement to Kansas City’s FOX4 film critic Shawn Edwards. The death has rocked Hollywood, seeing that he counted celebrities like Snoop Dogg, Nia Long and Spike Lee among his friends and colleagues. “Showing love/support for a fellow black director from LA,” director Ava DuVernaywrote in a tweet. “He is a lovely man. Pray with me.” Prior to his death, John suffered a stroke on April 17, which his family members told TMZ. The director, producer and writer had already checked himself into the hospital earlier that week due to “weakness in the leg,” and one of the relatives worried that John’s medical emergency was “triggered” by a recent flight back from Costa Rica. While the stroke was initially described as “mild,” the outlet later claimed that it was actually “major.”

John’s claim to fame is the 1991 film Boyz n the Hood, which won the NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Motion Picture and the MTV Movie Award for Best New Filmmaker. The coming-of-age film in South Los Angeles, which starred Cuba Gooding Jr., Angela Bassett, Ice Cube and Laurence Fishburne, was even selected for the Library of Congress’s National Film Registry in 2002 for its cultural significance. John went on to either direct, produce or write memorable films like Poetic Justice (1996),  2 Fast 2 Furious (2003) and Hustle & Flow (2005). Governor Ibrahim worries over eroding culture

Gov. Ibrahim Gaidam of Yobe is worried over the speed at which youths were losing touch with their culture and tradition.

The governor expressed his feelings in Machina in Yobe, during the annual Machina Cultural Festivals where he said the development was a looming disaster that should call for concern.

He stressed the need for urgent steps to be taken to redress the urgly trend, adding that preservation of culture and traditions were key elements for the development of any society.

He recommended the checking of influx of foreign culture and tradition, which he observed was the main cause of the present situation.

In his remarks ,the Emir of Machina, Alhaji Bashir Machinama, commended Gaidam for addressing the problems of his emirate, just as he conferred on the governor, the traditional title of ‘Shettima Fatihuma’.

He said the prestigious title could be conferred only on personalities who distinguished themselves in executing important capital projects that impacted on the lives of people.

“In humble reference to the government of Yobe, it is the sincere judgement of the people of Machina emirate and Machina local government that the tenure of Gaidam’s administration, has been the most significant.

“The most serious problems of Machina had been that of scarcity of water for human and animal consumption, as well as lack of tarred roads.

“Governor Ibrahim Gaidam, being dynamic, visionary, focused, committed and dedicated leader, has been able to solve the problems.

“For that reason, we the entire people of Machina are testifying that he has fulfilled most, if not all, the promises he made to the people of the emirate,” said the Emir.

Minimum Wage: NLC chapters set to write govs on implementation

There are strong indications that the state chapters of the Nigeria Labour Congress will as from May 1 begin talks with their state governments on the implementation of the N30 , 000 minimum wage recently approved by President Muhammadu Buhari .

Investigations by The PUNCH on Sunday showed that while some state chapters of the NLC would begin meeting with the state governments on May 1 ( May Day ) , others insisted that they would wait for a circular from the National Salaries , Incomes and Wages Commission before they could start negotiation.

The unionists said that they would not tolerate any reduction in the N30, 000 minimum wage by any state government .

Ekiti NLC to meet state govt

For instance , the Ekiti State Chairman of the NLC , Olatunde Kolapo , in an interview with The PUNCH on Saturday , said labour would meet with the state government on May 1 .

Kolapo , who was inaugurated as the NLC state chairman on Thursday , said , “ We just came on board . The meeting with the state government will take place next ( this ) week . Wednesday is Workers’ Day . That is still an avenue . All we need to know is when to expect it .

“ There is no negotiation again because it has been signed into law . So , as a law , it is binding on all state governments to implement it . There is no going back on it . Workers in Ekiti State are looking forward to it . ”

On what would happen if the state government came up with excuses , the labour leader said , “ I don ’ t think the Ekiti State Governor , Dr Kayode Fayemi , will have any different view because his Chief of Staff , Mr Biodun Omoleye , who represented him at our delegates’ conference on Thursday , spoke the mind of the government on the readiness to pay.

“ I want to believe there is no cause for alarm. Labour will not take anything short of the N30, 000 minimum wage in Ekiti , ” Kolapo said .

However , his Osun State counterpart , Jacob Adekomi , said the chapter had received the communication last week from the NLC national headquarters to begin negotiation.

At a campaign rally in Wisconsin, President Trump praised Bosa for liking him. "He's a MAGA fan! He loves trump, he loves MAGA."

Bosa, who was the San Francisco 49ers' top draft pick on Thursday, apologized for a controversial tweet that referred to former 49ers quarterback Kaepernick as a "clown."

Calling his tweet a "bad decision," Bosa said, "I mean, I respect what he's done. If it empowers anybody, then he's doing a good thing, so I apologize for that."

In an interview prior to draft day, Bosa said his agent went through his social media timelines and deleted posts praising Trump and bashing Kaepernick and Beyonce.

In other tweets, Bosa called Beyonce's music "trash" and said the movie Black Panther was the "worst Marvel movie" in the franchise. He also 'liked' Instagram posts that featured the N-word and homophobic slurs.

"I definitely made some insensitive decisions throughout my life," Bosa said. "I'm just excited to be here with a clean slate. I'm sorry if I hurt anybody. I definitely didn't intend for that to be the case."

Bosa said he knew he would go to San Francisco, Kaepernick's former team in a city known for its liberal politics.

"I had to," he said of his decision to scrub the Trump and Kaepernick tweets. "There is a chance I might end up in San Francisco."

"I think me being here is even better for me as a person because I don't think there's any city that will help you grow as much as this one will. I'm going to be surrounded with people, all different kinds. I'm going to grow as a person."

Kaepernick was blacklisted by the NFL for kneeling during the national anthem. He reportedly settled with the NFL for less than $10 million.
