UPDATE - Ronaldo overtakes ex-teammate, Gonzalo Higuain as Serie A top earner

Juventus new signing Cristiano Ronaldo overtakes former Real Madrid teammate Gonzalo Higuain to becomes the best Serie A top earner.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport who releases of the best-paid players and the Italian club wage bill for the 2018-19 season which worth €1.1bn.Ronaldo moves the Allianz Stadium this summer from Champions League this summer after ending his nine association with Los Blancos which saw him become the highest paid player in the division, with his €31m net salary more than three times that of AC Milan on loan striker Higuain, who is second in the list with €9.5m.

Paulo Dybala is third with his salary of €7m per season, while 11 of the five-time Ballon d'Or Juventus teammate are among the 21 players in the list as the top earner in the Serie A with the likes Miralem Pjanic, Douglas Costa, Emre Can, Leo Bonucci, Sami Khedira, Inter captain Mauro Icardi and Radja Nainggolan are the only Nerrazzuri stars with Napoli duo of Lorenzo Insigne and Dries Mertens makes the cut but Gianluigi Donnarumma and Wojciech Szczesny are only two in the 21 highest paid players in the league.
