Karim Benzema tried to convince Florentino Perez to sign 31 years old ace

It has been revealed that during the summer Real Madrid attacker Karim Benzema tried to convince president Florentino Perez to make a move for 31-year-old  Hatem Ben Arfa after he was released by Paris Saint-Germain, according to report.

Ben Arfa signed a two-year extension with the Ligue 1 team Stade Rennais being a free transfer.

Benzema and Ben Arfa were teammates during their time in Lyon before Benzema signed for Real Madrid in 2009.Perez was not convinced enough to sign the midfielder due to the fact that he had enough players in that department. Should Perez sanction the deal to sign Ben Arfa it would be the most surprising transfer of the summer but the French midfielder has signed a deal with Rennes.

Speaking about signing Ben Arfa said: ”I’m approaching the Stade Renna is as another stage of my life and my career.“I’m really ready, psychologically and physically, so it’s a new stage with a lot of ambition, there’s everything here.”
