RHOP: Monique Samuels And Candiace Dillard Have Charges Dismissed
The new season of Real Housewives of Potomac has stopped filming but the fallout from an incident during filming is still active. The complaints that Monique Samuels and Candiace Dillard filed against each other have been dismissed.
In October, rumors swirled that the frenemies got into it at a cast dinner. Candiace reportedly threw a drink in Monique’s face who responded by pulling her head down and ‘dragging’ her.
About a month after the incident, Candiace filed a second-degree assault complaint against her co-star who then filed a counter.
Friday, the Public Affairs Director of Montgomery County, Maryland announced that the Office of the State’s Attorney dismissed both cases.

Monique’s attorney gave a statement to People that read, in part: ‘We are pleased with the final determination by the Montgomery County’s States Attorney’s Office to not proceed against Mrs. Samuels for assault charges brought against her by Candiace Dillard Bassett. Consistent with her prior bad acts, offensive words and conduct, and her reputation for physical threats and verbal outbursts on the show, through third party interviews and the review of other evidence, the government concluded not to move forward against my client, Mrs. Samuels,’

Meanwhile, Dillard’s attorney also gave a statement: ‘We are very, very pleased that the prosecutor did not charge Ms. Dillard Bassett with any criminal charges or pursue the criminal charges against her. As you may recall, the defendant’s legal team made the accusation that our client was the aggressor and assaulted Ms. Samuels by throwing a wine glass at her. However, it is very clear by today’s decision that this was a false allegation. I still feel strongly that my client was the victim, but I do hope all parties can move on now.’
The lawyer also added that he hopes Monique will stop assassinating his client’s character.
Previously, Candiace stated that she may pursue a civil lawsuit against her foe, it’s unknown if she will but she is legally free To do so.
