Prince Andrew Didn’t Show Up To His Daughter’s Engagement Party

This Wednesday night, Princess Beatrice, the daughter of Prince Andrew, celebrated her engagement to Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi. The daughter of the ex-royal family member and Sarah Ferguson invited many close friends and relatives to the party at the Chiltern Firehouse in London, England.

An insider who spoke with Entertainment Tonight stated that while Sarah was seen at her daughter’s party, the Duke of York was nowhere to be seen. The same source explained that Prince Andrew didn’t want to go because it would’ve created a distraction for other people there.

As most know, Prince Andrew had been connected to the late Jeffrey Epstein before he mysteriously died while sitting in a jail cell for sex abuse and human trafficking crimes. Even though Prince Andrew wasn’t there for the ceremony, Beatrice was still surrounded by her close family.

Pippa and James, Kate Middleton’s sister and brother, were also at the event along with big named celebrities like James Blunt and Ellie Goulding. Prince Harry’s friend, Guy Pelly, was present as well. Reportedly, Andrew’s daughter canceled her engagement party after the scandal first hit the mainstream press.

Even though the official wedding date hasn’t been revealed thus far, the announcement is expected to be made sometime in the future. Andrew was not at the party, however, he did spend some time with his 31-year-old daughter earlier that day at the Queen’s Christmas lunch.

The Prince and the Queen were seen at the event along with Princess Eugenie as well. An insider who spoke with Entertainment Tonight confirmed everyone was polite and getting along well at the royal gathering.

Furthermore, the aforementioned source explained that the family follows the Queen’s lead. They’re still nice to Andrew, despite the difficult circumstances his scandal facilitated. Andrew is expected to hang out with them again for a Christmas service in Sandringham.

As it was previously reported, Prince Andrew stepped down from his royal duties last month following his interview regarding his relationship with Epstein. As for who intends to walk Beatrice down the aisle, reports claim Andrew will still take on that role.
