Jane Fonda Arrested For The Fifth Time In Climate Change Protest

Jane Fonda has been in the news repeatedly over the last few weeks regarding her involvement in the climate change protests going on in the nation’s capital. Fonda, who will have her 82nd birthday on Saturday, thus far, has been in cuffs five times up until this Friday, claims a new report from The Hollywood Reporter.

The celebs and other political activists involved call it Fire Drill Fridays, and Fonda has been chief among those protesting climate change and attempting to bring awareness to the anti-fossil fuel movement.

Furthermore, the video of her apprehension was posted on social media. You can check it out in the link shown below:

Reportedly, the police arrested the actress and she appears to enjoy it a lot. In the past week, Fonda has managed to avoid being charged officially. Fonda wrote on her website that she would be on Capitol Hill as long as it takes to get the message across.

On the site, Fonda claimed she felt inspired by the movement our “youth created.” During a conversation with The Hollywood Reporter earlier, the DC authorities stated Fonda wouldn’t be charged for her prior arrests.

However, it’s not entirely clear whether or not she’ll be arrested for the charge yesterday, although, she did spend at least one night behind bars following a prior arrest. Followers of the protest know that other stars have been apprehended as well, including Sam Waterston, Catherine Keener, Rosanna Arquette, Ted Danson, and Sally Field.

Previously, protestors were hit with charges of incommoding, obstructing, and crowding. In the past, Jane admitted she was devoted to social and political causes.

Jane has received a number of very distinguished accolades, including two Academy Awards, seven Golden Globe Awards, two BAFTAs, an AFI Life Achievement Award, a Primetime Emmy Award, as well as an Honorary Golden Lion.

Interestingly, Jane holds the honor of producing the highest-selling VHS of all time, a videotape called Jane Fonda’s Workout. It sold 17 million copies. Additionally, she married Ted Turner, the founder of CNN in 1991. They divorced ten years later.
