Chris Wood Shows Support To Wife Melissa Benoist After Revealing She Survived Domestic Violence

Chris Wood seems to be his wife, Melissa Benoist’s biggest supporter! That being said, after the actress decided to open up about her past experience as a domestic violence survivor, he made sure to shower her with love and praise her for the bravery.

Wood joined the many fans who made the #IStandWithMelissa hashtag trend on Twitter today.

He posted about the holiday, wishing everyone following him a ‘Happy Thanksgiving!’ but also shared that ‘I’m going to kiss my wife and hold her tenderly. All day. And every day. How do YOU show love? #IStandWithMelissa.’

It’s nice to see that he took this opportunity to show Melissa some love and support.

As fans remember, the two actually met on the set of Supergirl and in 2017, they started their love story.

Just about two months ago Chris and Melissa also tied the knot, starting a new chapter in their relationship as husband and wife.

Melissa has been receiving a lot of support from fellow celebs as well as fans after she posted a video in which she got candid about her experience with domestic violence.

While she chose not to reveal the identity of the aggressor, the 31 year old actress mentioned that he was younger than her.

‘I am a survivor of domestic violence or intimate partner violence [IPV], which is something I never expected I’d say, let alone be broadcasting into the ether. He was a magnanimous person, who did not really give you a choice not to be drawn to him. He could be charming, funny, manipulative, devious,’ she shared.

The actress went on to say that throughout the relationship, she ended up developing an ‘astonishing poker face,’ explaining that: ‘Melissa in public put on a happy face and a healthy life, whereas Melissa at home dropped the veneer and lived a nightmare in the middle of one never-ending dispute. Battle wounds and all. Breaking that cycle was the most rewarding, empowering choice I’ve ever made for myself. I feel an enduring strength. I will be healing from this for the rest of my life.’
