Brad Pitt And Angelina Jolie Face One Major Problem In The Divorce Proceedings And $10 Million Cannot Solve It

The divorce between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie is still underway, even though it has been quite a while since they initially decided to split up.

And according to recent reports, there is one major thing left on the table before the two could part ways legally.

More specifically, their chateau in France is still under a significant question mark, with both sides refusing to budge from their positions.

Pitt has been very insistent that he wants to be the one to retain the estate and has tried to compensate by making various other offers to his former partner, including $10 million lump-sum payment, all of which have been turned down, however.

On the other hand, Jolie insists that she was the one to have the idea to purchase the chateau in France initially, and she should, therefore, be allowed to retain its full value.

So far, the situation seems to be at a standstill, with both sides refusing to consider the other’s position, and standing their ground.

A source spoke Us Weekly and had this to say on the Miraval: “The sticking point is the value of Miraval. Angelina wants to be awarded the property as hers entirely because it was her idea to purchase the property, to begin with.”

It could take quite a while for a conflict like this to come to a resolution, and at this point, it does not look like either side has any interest in letting the other one get what they want.

Many of the couple’s fans have pointed out that the proceedings between them have gotten a bit ridiculous lately, and there have been some comments urging the two just to let the story go and move on with their lives at this point.

In a recent interview, Jolie said this is how she felt about the split: “I felt smaller, almost insignificant, even if it wasn’t necessarily obvious. I felt a deep and genuine sadness. I was hurt.”

Pitt confessed in a separate interview: “I can’t remember a day since I got out of college when I wasn’t boozing or had a spliff or something. Something. And you realize that a lot of it is, um — cigarettes, you know, pacifiers. And I’m running from feelings.”

He added: “I’m really, really happy to be done with all of that. I mean, I stopped everything except boozing when I started my family. But even this last year, you know — things I wasn’t dealing with. I was boozing too much. It’s just become a problem. And I’m really happy it’s been half a year now, which is bittersweet, but I’ve got my feelings in my fingertips again.”

Some say a resolution is quite unlikely in the very near future.
