Millie Bobby Brown Apologizes After Receiving Backlash Over Viral Pretend Skincare Routine Video

The Stranger Things actress was just trying to promote her new skincare and makeup line made specifically for generation Z, called Florence by Mills. However, the video Millie Bobby Brown posted showing her ‘using’ the products got her a lot of backlash on social media.

The negative feedback was related to the fact that most people were convinced the teen was not using anything on her face and pretty much miming the skincare routine for the camera.

It was obvious enough that she was wearing makeup throughout the clip despite saying that she was applying face wash and scrub before washing it off with water off camera.

Throughout all of this process her eyeliner remained intact, however, and each time she’d supposedly use a product, it definitely looked like she was rubbing her hands together and then rubbing her face.

The video became viral soon enough and people were dumbfounded!

Here are some of the reactions from social media users: ‘I cannot believe she is literally just dry-rubbing her hands together and then rubbing her face. Like … is this a prank?’ / ‘I do not ever believe that celebrities are selling us the skincare routine that they actually use. But I still expect them to use it at least once! If you are not willing to even put it on your face in order to make a sale, why should anyone use it for real?’

Seeing the backlash, Brown took to her platform earlier today to apologize for the controversial video.

‘I’m still learning the best ways to share my routines as I get to know this space better – I am not an expert. I thought that doing a quick video replicating my process for that night was okay, but that’ i not what was conveyed. I understand and I appreciate all of your feedback on this journey, please keep sharing your thoughts and I will too! ily guys x #loveandlight,’ the young actress posted.
