Matt Lauer Is Reportedly Freaking Out Over Katie Couric Tell-All Book – Here’s Why

Matt Lauer is reportedly freaking out over Katie Couric’s upcoming tell-all book. He has allegedly asked his former colleague to give him a heads up regarding what is said about Lauer in her memoir before it is released.

The disgraced Today host is reportedly worried Couric’s book will blow up any chance he has had making a television comeback. RadarOnline is indicating Lauer has been working hard to rebuild his shattered reputation, following being fired for several accounts of sexual misconduct.

Although Couric’s book is in the early stages, that has not stopped Lauer from blowing up her phone.

RadarOnline claims the former CBS anchor told her one-time coworker she has nothing to share at this time. An outline for the memoir reportedly hasn’t even been created yet.

“That has Matt paralyzed with fear because he knows she received a $12 million advance for the book and the publisher is expecting a blockbuster,” a source shares with the website.

The insider further states since Couric and Lauer worked together for years on the NBC morning show. She allegedly has a lot of dirty details that could do even more damage to his already tarnished reputation.

“Katie doesn’t intend to give Matt a heads-up. Matt’s hoping to land a new TV gig, but Katie could torpedo him by bringing his scandal back into the news,” the source further explained.

Neither Couric nor Lauer has responded to the RadarOnline’s claims he is freaking out over her book.

It was announced earlier this year that Katie Couric is writing a tell-all memoir about her career in journalism. Unexpected will hit bookshelves in 2021, but no specific date has been revealed.

The press release shared the memoir will touch on the #MeToo movement, including her own dealings with sexism in the workplace. It will also feature her struggle with her first husband, Jay Monahan’s battle and death from colon cancer.

“I’m excited to share what it was like being at the center of so many historical events and game-changing stories. I’m also ready to talk about the fascinating and sometimes challenging people with whom I’ve worked, the radical transformation of my industry, and the heartbreaking losses I’ve endured. It feels like now is the right time to look back, reflect, and consider what I’ve learned and how those lessons might help others,” Couric said at the time of her book announcement.

Do you think Lauer is honestly freaking out over Katie Couric’s tell-all book?
