Lamar Odom Says Dancing With The Stars Has Helped Him With His Life Post-Sobriety

According to a report from Entertainment Tonight, for Lamar Odom, Dancing With The Stars has been quite therapeutic following his struggle with substance abuse issues. It’s been four years since the basketball player overdosed, however, his current gig on Dancing With The Stars is helping him get better.

Speaking with reporters from ET on Monday, the 30-year-old claimed that every time he tells his story, “it’s like a therapy session.” The ex-husband of Khloe Kardashian claimed the whole experience has been therapeutic, including the actual experience of dancing.

As it was previously reported, Lamar was hospitalized back in 2015 when he was found unconscious at a Nevada brothel. Moreover, he recalled the experience during Monday’s episode of the reality television series.

Odom claimed he was living in Las Vegas at the time and he went into a place where he never should’ve been and overdosed. While in a coma, the basketball player supposedly had six heart attacks and 12 strokes, Lamar explained.

Lamar earned a 12 out of 30 this week while performing a salsa dance with his partner. Earlier this year, Lamar also published his memoir, which was widely reported on due to his former relationship with the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star, Khloe.

In his book, Lamar claimed he had engaged in all kinds of transgressive behavior, including cheating on Khloe on a regular basis, doing drugs, cheating to get in the Olympics, among other misdeeds. Interestingly, Lamar claims he even went so far as to purchase a prosthetic penis for the sake of passing the drug test.

According to the basketball player, he bought the fake penis online, filled it up with urine from someone else, and used that to pee in the cup which was then tested for drugs and narcotics.

Sources close to the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star, Khloe, claimed she was frankly “indifferent,” although a bit annoyed by the fact Lamar had inadvertently brought her name into the media again. However, she reportedly accepts his story as Lamar’s personal truth.
