Eddie Money Reportedly Passed Away From Surgery Complications

According to a report from TMZ.com, a source close to the singer who passed away this week, Eddie Money, claims he died from surgery operation complications related to his heart valve surgery from before the summer.

TMZ reported that the 1970s and 1980s hit-maker, perhaps most famous for “Two Tickets To Paradise,” as well as “Baby Hold On,” died from the complications surrounding his prior procedures. As it was previously reported, Eddie died last night in Los Angeles.

His family confirmed the sad news in a social media post, stating that Eddie had “passed away peacefully early this morning.” As fans of the iconic singer know, he first made the revelation in the second season of his reality show, Real Money.

Around the time of his diagnosis, sources claimed his medical situation wasn’t looking great, including the fact much of cancer had spread to other areas of his body. Earlier this year in May, it was reported that Eddie was having a minor heart valve procedure, and had also caught pneumonia in July.

Borin in Brooklyn, Edward Joseph Mahoney came from a family with a long history of working in the New York Police Department. Eddie was also on the force for approximately two years, before leaving the city in 1968 for California to work on his music career.

The “Two Tickets to Paradise” singer had worked in local clubs all over Berkeley until he was signed to Columbia Records in 1976. When Eddie signed to a record label, he achieved success almost right away with a double-platinum album, including his most iconic hit, “Two Tickets To Paradise.”

He also made cameo appearances in other hits such as King Of Queens in 2002. Eddie left behind his wife of more than thirty years, Laurie, as well as their five kids together, Desmond, Julian, Joseph, Jessica, and Zachary. Eddie was 70-years-old.

Another rock star to deal with health problems is the Black Sabbath frontman, Ozzy Osbourne, who had to postpone some of his dates earlier this year, in addition to the frontman of the Rolling Stones, Mick Jagger.
