Taylor Swift Shares Diary Entry About The VMAs Drama With Kanye West From 2009

As fans already know, Taylor Swift got really vulnerable with the release of the four editions of ‘Lover,’ releasing no less than 120 pages from her diary along with the album. That being said, one of the versions even included an entry from back in 2009 when Kanye West embarrassed her on stage.

The rapper climbed on stage and stole the mic just as she was accepting an award at the MTV VMAs.

Kanye said in front of the whole world that Beyonce was the one who deserved the award for Best Music video and not Taylor, since Single Ladies was one of the best of all time.

While Kanye did not let her finish her speech, Taylor, who was just 19, managed to go more in depth about what she felt at the time in her diary.

The entry dated September 18, 2009 reads: ‘Ahh… the things that can change in a week… Let’s just say, if you had told me that Kanye West would have been the number one focus of my week, the media, and my part in the VMAs I would have looked at you cross eyed. If you had told me that I would win the award I was nominated for, I would not have believed you.’

‘And if you had told me that one of the biggest stars in music was going to jump up on stage and announce that he thought I should not have won on live television, I would have said ‘That stuff does not really happen in real life.’ Well… apparently…. It does,’ she went on to write.
