Donald Trump Addresses Reports He Wanted To Nuke Hurricanes

While President Donald Trump was away in France for the G7 summit, an odd story about him has emerged, claiming that he wanted to nuke hurricanes before they made landfall in the United States.

Via Axios, it was revealed that at a briefing in 2017, Trump told White House officials that he wanted to nuke hurricanes headed for the US.

National Security Council memos were sent out showing that Trump requested that his staff members find out if dropping nuclear bombs on hurricanes would stop them from taking lives and destroying homes.

The president told his senior Homeland Security and national security officials: “I got it. I got it. Why don’t we nuke them? They start forming off the coast of Africa, as they’re moving across the Atlantic, we drop a bomb inside the eye of the hurricane, and it disrupts it. Why can’t we do that?”

An official responded by: “Sir, we’ll look into that.”

The source went to say: “knocked back on his heels. You could hear a gnat fart in that meeting. People were astonished. After the meeting ended, we thought, ‘What the f—? What do we do with this?'”

Trump is not the first to come up with the idea of nuking hurricanes, but according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, using nuclear weapon over a hurricane is not a good idea because it “neglects the problem that the released radioactive fallout would fairly quickly move with the tradewinds to affect land areas.”

The story went viral, and via a tweet, Trump denied it by saying: “The story by Axios that President Trump wanted to blow up large hurricanes with nuclear weapons before reaching shore is ridiculous. I never said this. Just more FAKE NEWS!”

One person had this reaction to the story: “My money is on Trump for being the last president of the US… and for any of you hard leftist, I dislike Trump, before you start bashing.”

Another voter stated: “He’s the worst. I’m sorry, everyone. I voted against him. He LL buy Greenland, and then nuke the hurricane to celebrate it! America’s very own stable genius strikes again. FFS. ”

This Democrat wrote: “Please, someone, tell me this is all just an old episode of the Twilight Zone? I wonder which movie he got this idea from…I mean stole the idea from.”
