Phaedra Parks Not Surprised Apollo Nida Was Rearrested And Hasn’t Heard From Him Since: ‘I Can’t Make Him Be What He Doesn’t Want To Be’

It was a gloomy Father’s Day for Phaedra Parks’ two sons Ayden and Dylan. Apollo Nida’s young children made gifts to send to him before he got arrested two days before Father’s Day.

In an interview with Daily Mail, Phaedra explained that when her ex-husband told her that he would be getting out early and serving the rest of his time in a halfway house — she was already skeptical.

However, when Apollo Facetimed her and the boys to show them that he was sort of a free man, her children were understandably excited.

Unfortunately, only nine days into his stint in the halfway house Apollo was rearrested for violating a rule.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta alum was not surprised.

She explained: ‘I was disappointed, but at the same time, I don’t know if I was that shocked because he is a risk taker and I just hate it because now it’s just above all of us, only Jesus can fix it. I can’t make him be what he doesn’t want to be. He has to want to change.’

She added: ‘Being a parent does not come with the manual. So I don’t think that there’s any perfect parents, but obviously when you have a parent that is absent, like my ex husband, it makes it very difficult because I am the sole provider. You know, a woman cannot really teach a young man how to be a man.’

Luckily, Parks has surrounded her kids with men who can be a good influence. Kids are very resilient.

‘My sons have been through a lot, they’ve seen a lot of good things, they’ve seen a lot of bad things and nobody’s life is going to be perfect, so we’re just going to continue and keep our schedules as they have been and we’re going to hope and pray that Apollo can get it together.’

She and the ids haven’t heard from Apollo since the Facetime call. Nida is set to be released in October.
