SPORTS - Two Super Falcons stars name in CAF 2018 AWCON eleven

Two Super Falcons players have been named in the CAF 2018 AWCON XI  as African Footballer of the Year Asisat Oshoala faces a tough task retaining her individual title after she and compatriot Francisca Ordega were dropped to the substitute bench.

Falcons heroic goalkeeper Tochukwu Oluehi and defender Onome Ebi retained their places in the main selection while Desire Oparanozie was left out from the team of the tournament.

South Africa’s Thembi Kgatlana, who was both 2018 AWCON MVP and top scorer, will now be hot favourite to topple Oshoala as the best African player for the outgoing year.

Thembi Kgatlana is the leading scorer at the AWCON in Ghana with five goals including the match winner against Nigeria in a group game and also named the player of the competition

Gabrielle Aboudi Onguene (Cameroon), Chrestinah Thembi Kgatlana (South Africa), Bassira Toure (Mali)

- Substitutes:
