LIGUE 1 - Maro Balotelli blast former club fans over lack of respect
Mario Balotelli has blasted some fans of his former AC Milan over lack of respect and recognition during his time with Rossoneri.
The 28-year-old Nice striker is in his third season in Allianz Riviera although Italy international he is yet to register a goal in the 2018-19 season Ligue 1.
Balotelli had two spells with Milan either side of a disappointing spell at Liverpool, and news of a potential third stint was met with disdain from the Rossoneri faithful as he took his Instagram to post on Thursday to respond.
Nice and Italy striker. wrote: "It’s still nice to hear from so many Milan fans who wouldn’t like my eventual and rather unlikely return.
"But that’s okay. One day you’re needed and the other you’re not. The important thing is not to have any regrets.
"I don’t have any plans to move right now. I only wrote this to point out the non-recognition and non-respect of a fan base who will always be in my heart.”
The positive progress he made through his first two years at Nice has stalled this term, with current boss Patrick Vieira having questioned his value.
Nice were supposed to be coming up against Thierry Henry’s Monaco this weekend, but the game has been postponed as a result of the fuel-tax riots, denying Henry and Vieira a reunion on the touchline.
