Sports: Manchester City FC set English club record in the Champions League

Manchester City was invincible in the Premier League last season finishing the league with 100 points with 106 goals but that has not reflected on the European stage.

The 2-1 defeat against Lyon in the Champions League on Wednesday makes it the four consecutive loss in the tournament, they lost against Basel in the second leg at the round of 16 and suffered a home and away loss to Liverpool in the quarterfinals last season.

In the history of the tournament, no English team has lost four consecutive Champions League fixtures. Manchester City 1-2 Basel (last 16 return leg, 2017/18) Liverpool 3-0 Manchester City (quarter-final first leg, 2017/18) Manchester City 1-2 Liverpool (quarter-final return leg, 2017/18)Manchester City 1-2 Lyon (groups, 2018/19)The pressure is now on Manchester City to bounce back after some couples of a bad result in the competition as they can't afford any setbacks against Shakhtar Donetsk or Hoffenheim if they are to qualify for the round of 16.
